24++ Hours Old
January 19, 2006It’s your first day today. Since your mama is restricted to stand up, I do all the chores needed to be done around the house. I didn’t cook much though. Coz we still have leftovers from yesterday and Tita Cely gave us food for dinner (and boxes of zesto for would be visitors). You look so strong and you are very beautiful. You look a lot like me and uncle Bullet when you are asleep and you look like your mama when you are awake ’cause you got her eyes. You got Sandicos’ nose, my fingers and toes, you got your mama’s eyes and dimples. Months from now your features will be clearer. I love you baby! I love you my daughter Freja Selyn.
Birthday ni Freja Selyn
January 18, 2006T’was Tuesday, I was providing support for the two independent systems which I am now maintaining when you’re mother sent an sms that your amniotic fluid is at a level below normal and would require her to be admitted at the hospital.
I came at a rush to your mother’s side in less than an hour (thank goodness for our workplace location) and yet unprepared since your mother only came in for her weekly checkup and advised by dichie Sharlyn (your a-e) that since your mom has colds we should consider an early checkup for the both of you.
Since this is unscheduled, we haven’t got a private room and at its best provided us with a semi-private one. I called to inform Mama Let of your coming. I bought mineral water, two pieces of chicken eggs and liempo. Chicken eggs is said to aid your mom in delivery (which we gave away). Your mom had her last meal before delivery, liempo (the one I bought)and sinigang na bangus (hospital food). Your mom then had the labor inducing drug and suppository. We waited for your uncle Je, to pick up the things we needed (baby bag and all). But we decided to pick it up myself since it’s past nine and we don’t know when will you be ready. Unfortunately, Je arrived immediately after I left and Lolo King followed. So your Lolo fetched me from our place and bought dinner.
When your Lolo and Uncle left, nurses came to get your mom transferred to the labor room when which we previously thought that we are just going to be transferred to a private room. Your heartbeat rate was monitored and was found to be above normal at 160+. Your mom too is feeling uncomfortable and asked if she could go to the bathroom and there she realized that the uneasiness means you’re already coming out and it was confirmed by the midwife assigned and they immediately called Dra. Felix.
After your mom was transferred to the delivery room, I removed my lab gown/suit and ran upstairs to get your things. Panic-stricken I don’t know what they mean by “Gamit ng baby”. I was thinking, “should I get the whole bag?” - right! All of your stuff are in there anyway! Coached by our kapit-kama, I instead grabbed your clothes, booties, mittens and they let us borrow baby oil since I can’t find one in our bag.
I gave your things to a nurse, talked to your lolo on the phone, and wore that sterile room paraphernalia when you came out! That was fast! Isang irihan lang! I didn’t get to get pictures of you, I borrowed your ninong’s cam pa for the moment at pumayag pa mama mo para lang makuhaan ka pero wala akong nacapture! I wore that gown again to go inside the nursery and took pictures of you tapos binisita ko mama mo na kanina pa ako hinahanap. Paakyat na rin pala siya.
The drug did not kick in yet nung hiniwaan mama mo, so naramdaman nya yung hapdi at sakit kasi immediately after hiwaan naglabor mama mo.
We can’t announce yet na lumabas ka na coz all of our cellphones are out of battery na.
Your first formula was S26 since it’s the only milk available and the drugstore closest to us isn’t open 24 hours (It’s past 1am).
Nakipagkwentuhan pa ako sa mama mong malakas at nauna pa akong nakatulog! Parang ako yung napagod!
When we woke up at nauna nanaman ang mama mo sa paggising, nagbreakfast kami - sya sa hospital food ako sa leftover sa mcdo kagabi. We were waiting patiently for them to take you to us (patiently=maya’t maya nasa baba ako at tanong ng tanong kung pwede ka na bang iakyat samin!).
). Wala kaming battery so talagang nangapa sila sa pagpunta. I think around 2pm, we already settled the bill and hinatid tayong lahat ni Lolo King sa bahay. Lolo bought KFC (ulam namin for two days!) at isinama nya si mama pero sandali lang sila
Ang haba na masyado baby, dapat daw ang blog less than 200 words lang ang post sa blog. so putulin ko na lang bigl
